PALS

Physical Activity leaders

PALs is aimed at empowering and supporting students with the development of their leadership skills. The programme consists of a one day workshop, with other schools, where they interact with and participate in leadership development activities. The young leaders will then lead physical activity sessions during lunchtime with the support of Sport Hawke's Bay

PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

TERM 1 -  Children participate in 1 half day workshop. Four workshops delivered per year (3 x Pettigrew.Green Arena, 1 x Wairoa and 1 x Central Hawke's Bay).  

FOLLOW UP - The school receives 1 follow up session in school where the children discuss the effectiveness of their  PALS programme with 2 new games introduced. 

PROGRAMME CONTENT

The workshops aim to increase the confidence of student leaders. The students will participate in a variety of workshops to enhance their skills to coordinate lunchtime activities. These workshops focus on the following:

Leadership - What makes a good leader

Problem Solving

Communication

Practical Teaching
