SSNZ INTEGRITY FRAMEWORK

The feedback from principals, sports directors and co-ordinators and sport has been unanimously positive and in support of both the new SSNZ Integrity Framework and the new regulation regarding short term non-domestic students.

The SSNZ Integrity Framework has 3 components – an Integrity Statement that is explicit about the values embedded in school sport in NZ, a Code of Conduct to describe the behaviours that reflect these values and a Disciplinary Process that outlines the procedures that may be invoked should any allegations of the code being breached arise.

The Integrity Framework highlights the responsibility that principals have to ensure all people associated with their school’s sporting programme act in accordance with the spirit of school sport. This reflects the view of the board that such matters will always be a balance between regulations and the integrity of principals. The integrity framework will apply to all 436 SSNZ member schools and any other school that enters an SSNZ sanctioned event. The full Integrity Framework is available on the SSNZ website or you can click here for the full document.
