More People, More Active, More Often

Inclusive Sport in the Bay

At Sport Hawke's Bay, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of being active, regardless of any disabilities they may have.

In line with Sport NZ’s Disability Plan, we partnered with national and regional organisations, including local councils, disability groups, and athletes with lived experience, to better understand our region's needs. Feedback from over 70 online submissions and discussions at our 2021 Disability Forum helped us refine our strategic priorities.

We're committed to creating a better, more inclusive experience for the disability community in Hawke's Bay.

Disability-specific Opportunities

Sport Hawke's Bay staff ensure that people with disabilities have opportunities to participate in and compete in school and community events.

Our organisation advocates for inclusiveness so that more people can be more active more often, regardless of their abilities.
